Hello, and welcome to "About Me."

Yes, the sad but yet painfully truthful fact is, the mug you see to your left is mine.  My name is John Woods and I have lived my entire life in New Jersey.  I am currently 30 years old and working in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.  For those of you wondering what in the world that says, it is pronounced Bala (Like Gala) Kin Wood.

My day to day job is as a software technician.  I help other people solve their problems, but i do it over the phone.  When you have those problems you just can't seem to make work... you cannot make your text bold, your file will not save properly, or that dang Outlook mail still won't go out despite you cleaning out all those files from your sent items, I'm the type of person you call.

The fact is, I am damned good at my job, but now I'm looking for a little more out of life.  I have recently graduated from Chubb Institute from their Web Development and Business Design course.

My favorite course has got to be Visual Basic.  With it I have created a few small rolling programs for RPG's I am involved in.  I have discovered it's easier for me to learn to do something if it involves doing something I already like doing.  The game assistants are just something I like to do and my friends seem to like looking at, though I have not made them usable by others yet.  My current project is a character Generator for Role Master.

To the right is one of my biggest hobbies.  Not blowing bubbles, but creating graphic images.  Computer design has quickly become one of my favorite past times as it allows me the freedom to do almost anything, go anywhere, and not feel limited by the boundaries of space and time.

I find that when I create, I can bring myself to another place that helps me create more with my physical drawings as well, and opens my mind for my writing.  Thus far it has, at best, helped to to pen a few ideas and a few rough sketches, but nothing too extreme in either direction.

The program I use, thus far, is Bryce 4.  I've not yet gotten an upgrade to 5 as the tools I have at my disposal now suit me fine.  My two most recent pictures are nothing more then scratchpad pieces.  Images that are, for lack of a better word, a testing spot.  The image to the right is just that, a test on reflections.

The picture to left is a test on texture and shadows. It's simply the same arch over and over again, placed together and rendered.  Above is the same ball with a chrome texture.  To have a little fun I submersed one in water and let it go.  The rendering took quite some time but the effect was exactly what I was looking for.

I am, as of right now, fairly unpublished with my works, but will hopefully soon change that, either through my own company "Dream Designs, Inc." (Currently Unavailable) or xSky, Inc., a company owned and operated by a friend and former colleague of mine.

You'll find much more of my work throughout this site, so feel free to enjoy and peruse the areas, but remember, they're my pictures, I worked hard to create them, and do not allow them to be taken.
